Nokia teases "X" before launching an Android Phone

Nokia "X" codenamed Normandy

Nokia used to be one of the best mobile phone manufacturers in the world, it still produces great quality devices, however many argue that Windows Phone software may be holding the company back when it comes to sales. Windows Phone 8 is still far behind in a lot of aspects that competitors like Android and iOS thrive in, including not having a strong app ecosystem. Here is where the so called "Normandy" phone comes in play, also known as Nokia X.

"Some specifications have leaked stating that it will have a 4-inch display, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB storage and a 5 megapixel camera."

Some specifications have leaked stating that it will have a 4-inch display, 512 MB of RAM, 4GB storage and a 5 megapixel camera. This is obviously targeted towards the entry level smartphone market. It will attract users that want to get the smartphone experience, trust Nokia as a manufacturer and furthermore prefer Android. Now that we reached the Android part of the device, it will run a "forked" version of Android, meaning that it will support some popular android apps but the developers will have to port their apps in a specific app store. The announcement is expected to take place at the Mobile World Congress on February 24th.

The question here is, will Nokia attract consumers with this new Android device? What do you guys think?
