It is a fairly simple unboxing, with the tablet itself in the box usb, charging adaptor, the quick start guide and the warranty.
The build quality is great, not quite as much as the ipad, but it feels great holding it. Due to its rubbery back it doesn't feel like slipping off your hands. One thing I don't like is the place of the speaker. It can be easily blocked with your hand and does not serve its purpose as it should in the back.

All was good at the start and the launch of the Nexus 7 (2102), is it still good a year later and now that the new Nexus 7 (2013) is out?
Nexus 7 2013
I personally still use my first generation Nexus 7 without any problems or lag or crashes. Maybe I am one of the few lucky people that bought the device and have had zero issues with it. Even now a year after I did not root the device, I currently run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and all is well. Some of the things I still enjoy are the pure Android experience, the customisability of android (widgets, home-screen), and the large amount of media and game consumption I daily enjoy on my Nexus 7.
As far as physical damage goes, my device is slightly if at all damaged. I used all the cases reviewed on the blog, click here to see, so it was always protected.
The thing is now with the new version out I started to think about upgrading to the new version (2013), due to the much better screen and the rear facing camera as well as the 4G network. But that will probably have to wait for the holiday season.
So how does the 2012 version of the Nexus 7 stack up today?
Well I believe that for the non-geek the Nexus 7 (2012) can work fine until the next version is released to the world (2014) but I cannot see it going any further than that. The Geek however probably already added the new Nexus 7 (2013) to his/hers collection. As for me probably in the holiday season I will have a new addition to the family.
