HTC One

The most Talked about Smartphone

HTC One is here and it has got a lot of attention both from people and the press. Why? Well it is quite remarkable in its own way. This device is HTC's ticket out of the shadows, so they did not cut back on anything. From the brilliant design, aluminium body and Full HD screen this phone is a joy to look at. This thing of beauty does not come short when it comes to specs (Quad Core processor, Full HD Screen and much more) but it does not offer a replaceable battery nor a micro SD slot for expandable memory.

Battery life was a problem on previous HTC devices and it could be on this one as well, depending on the user and what is done with the device, if you also take into account that the battery is not removable. That is an advantage that competing smartphones, like the Samsung Galaxy S4, have a removable battery which can be a huge advantage if you tend to fully use your device and drain the battery.

The other strong point of the HTC One is the Ultrapixel Camera. The Ultrapixel is basically a fancy name for a 4 Megapixel camera. This means more light can pass through the sensor and there is better performance in low light conditions but it comes at the expence of pixelation when zooming in or printing at a larger size.

The Verdict

Is this device for you? Considering the price tag and the competition, yes the HTC One is definitely a great choice. Both build quality, hardware and software are great and keep up to today's standards. But if you are not willing to give up the ability to expand storage or replace the battery this may not be the phone for you. An additional point to consider before buying is the HTC Sense skin that runs over Android. I believe that a gadget is as good as your needs and requirements make it.
